Setelah menunggu sekian lama, pada tanggal 30 Agustus 2016 kemarin, Asus meluncurkan update Android M untuk Asus Zenfone ZE551ML. Android M ini sudah ditunggu-tunggu oleh pengguna Zenfone 2 ZE551ML sejak lama, karena menurut info untuk menghilangkan bug yang ada pada Smartphone ini.

Untuk mengunduh firmware ini bisa langsung ke situs support Asus, selanjutnya tinggal pilih Firmware untuk Android M. Karena belum ada FOTA dari Asus untuk semua Zenfone, maka untuk update dijalankan secara manual.

Catatan untuk update ini dari Asus:

ASUS ZenFone 2=ZE551ML(Z00AD/Z00ADA/Z00ADB/Z00ADC) software Image: V4.21.40.134 for WW SKU only* (andriod M)
Note:

1)APP2SD not supported in M. Please backup before upgrade.
2)Adjust pre-load app after upgrade to Android M
3) Multi-user and SnapView will not be supported. If you wish to continue to use multi-user, please keep using current account
4)Remove Asus Email, Asus Calendar, Asus Messaging, Asus Browser and Asus Music after Factory Reset. You could use Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Messenger, Chrome and Google Play Music for relevant services
5)Add new features and new apps:
– Google Calendar
– Google Messenger
– Facebook
– Facebook messenger
– Instagram

The apps listed below will no longer be pre-loaded once your device has been upgraded to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).

Steps of Update:
1. Check software version of your device**
2. Download device software and Update SOP (From “Manual” Item)
3. Only apply to same SKU update, Example: WW->WW, CN->CN, .
4. Software update cannot transfer the software SKU and downgrade the software version.
5. Wrong SKU may cause update failure, please update the same SKU version only.
